BJJ - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu / Submission Wrestling
In this class, we cover the basics movements, positions, and concepts of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This class is for athletes who are interested in specializing in BJJ exclusively. Emphasis is placed on the core movements (shrimp / oumpa), positions (mount, guard, cross-sides), concepts (pressure, mobility, tightness, setups, etc), and finish moves / submissions. Time is split between instruction and guided wrestling / grappling.
Jits with hits - Jiu-Jitsu / Mixed Martial Arts
The components include mobility, range awareness, boxing hands, thai legs, elbows, knees, headbutts, basic clinch and ground techniques, and self-defense strategies against common street situations. Emphasis is placed on proper body mechanics, training with "alive" drills, transition from range to range, increased level of conditioning and technical execution of self-defense / fighting strategies. Live sparring rounds make up the training sessions.
